ZipLip Introduces Java-based Secure Data Exchange Platform
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – March 20, 2001
ZipLip, Inc., the leading provider for the next generation of scalable J2EE secure data exchange platform, today announced the world's first secure Data Exchange Platform (ZDX).
The ZDX platform is built to open standards (Java/J2EE) and is the foundation that determines the scalability and flexibility of the applications which run on top of it. Security is intrinsically woven into the platform fabric.
Very tightly integrated into the platform is a sophisticated "metadata" (i.e., data about data) framework which works with all popular databases and scales to handle billions of files.
Also tightly coupled to the ZipLip platform are massive distribution technologies which enhances the power of existing infrastructure and delivery methods such as email, SMS, POP3, IMAP4, FTP, HTTP, SSL, WAP, XML, etc. The distribution can be done with end-to-end security, authenticated, and delivered to any device including the wireless handset. Secure Web-based workflow capabilities are also built-in.
With such integrated capabilities, complex applications become possible, e.g., large-scale content storage and distribution with tracking and encryption or watermark protection; secure communications for customer support involving sensitive information such as in financial or health care sectors; secure workflow and collaboration on the Web combining ubiquitous Web access with ad hoc groups of collaborators, etc.
Building applications on top of the ZipLip platform is fast and easy. For example, ZipLip enterprise applications already include: very large scale secure email systems, secure document delivery, secure calendar, secure file storage and sharing, secure collaborative work flow, secure email campaign marketing, and secure CRM or issue tracking. Each application has the option of wireless delivery. ZipLip's technology platform can be easily modified to suit the customer's needs.
ZDX is immediately available as software or a hosted service. The platform runs on Solaris, Windows 2000/NT and Linux servers. It also supports application servers, including Allaire Jrun 3.0/2.3 and iPlanet 6.0/4.x and databases, including Oracle 8.x, SQL Server 7.x/2000.
